I love the smell of a new box of Crayons. I love the anticipation of a new school year. I love sitting with a group of kiddos and bringing a story alive for them through a read-aloud. I love “lightbulb” moments. I love teacher’s hearts for kids…I love education!
I began creating these resources to try and save teachers TIME. Time is the one thing we can’t beg, borrow or steal more of and it is actually the reason why I had to resign from teaching in the first place. I vividly remember telling my principal I would have to resign and with tears in my eyes that… “I want to do all that I can to help keep exceptional teachers in teaching!”
Having taught 3rd and 4th grade for 12 years, I understand how challenging your job can be! I would spend endless hours after the last teacher had left the building working one of the countless tasks of teaching. I believed my students deserved my best and I would move heaven and earth to give it to them. I would research best practices and then implement them; I would constantly reflect on and improve my teaching craft. I was teacher of the year twice… yet there were four kids I couldn’t reach… my own four children… because I wouldn’t stop “working” so that I could be there for them.
That realization hit me like a ton of bricks and my world came crashing down with it. I said that I lived my life with God first, my husband second, my family third, and my work fourth when in reality… it was the exact opposite! And my time proved just that. God showed me I needed a change, and He gently opened the fingers that I had clasped so tightly around my career and my classroom.
After transitioning to work with my husband in real estate, I wanted to make helping educators a high priority for our team. My original idea was to help by volunteering at my past schools. Helping teachers with small groups, copying, and creating resources… but, God had a bigger plan. Due to the COVID pandemic I was not allowed to volunteer on campus. My original plans were thrown out the window, as were so many other plans at the beginning of the school year. Thus, our Educator Resource Group was created. I am so thankful you are here, but more importantly I am thankful to have exceptional educators diligently working, pouring into kiddos lives day in and day out! Keep up the great work!
We are here to help educators however we can! Our desire is to save you TIME, MONEY, and help CONNECT and ENCOURAGE you! Please let us know how we can help.
